Next Gen Robotic Sorting System for Heavy Weight Recycling from ZenRobotics

Helsinki, Finland based robotic recycling sorting specialist, ZenRobotics, has launched its latest robotic sorting robot for the recycling industry. The company explained that its Next Generation ZenRobotics Recycler now doubles the capacity of the first robotic heavy waste sorting system introduced in 2012. According to ZenRobotics the renewed system incorporates both the speed of the previous model ZRR Fast Picker and the strength of the previous ZRR Heavy Picker – all in one multi-purpose solution, and will increase the capacity of waste sorting plants. The developer claimed that currently, the Next Generation ZenRobotics Recycler can sort on average 3000 picks per hour and has a peak sorting speed is up to 4000 picks per hour. New features include a new gripper that is said to be able to pick bigger and heavier objects, including fractions up to 50 cm wide and 20 kg in weight. Thanks to the renewed robust structure, ZenRobotics said that its latest robotic recycling is particularly fit for a demanding heavy waste processing environment. The company explained that sorting the heavy and large fractions found in construction & demolition waste or commercial & industrial waste streams requires a strong and durable system. Especially when aiming for waste sorting that runs 24/7. “During the past year, we have focused on dramatically improving both the speed and the capacity. We have developed completely new hardware that enables fully automated waste sorting,” commented ZenRobotics CEO, Timo Taalas. “Now we are breaking speed records all the time.” ZenRobotics added that its Next Generation Recyclers are already in operation at the SITA Suomi Oy, waste sorting plant in Helsinki.
