global reporting initiative waste podcast

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a provider of a global sustainability reporting framework, has has launched a new podcast series – with the first episode looking at waste.

GRI is an independent international organisation, based in Amsterdam with regional offices around the world. Its aim is to help businesses, governments and other organisations understand and communicate their sustainability impacts.

In introducing its new podcast series, GRI said that the world cannot continue using resources at the same pace that it has been until now. However, businesses can help address the issue, and become more efficient in the process, by effectively reporting on their waste management.

Due to the urgency of the topic, the GRI Waste Standard is currently being updated, to ensure it is in-line with international best practice and reflects new developments in waste management and reporting.

In the episode, you will hear from Colombia-based environmental consultant Daniel Gómez, a member of the working group responsible for drafting the new Waste Standard, as he shares his insights on waste management.
