Off-highway tire specialist, Alliance Tire Group (ATG), has launched three new solid Galaxy tires for the waste and recycling industry - the LHD 500 SDS L-5, the Super Smooth SDS L-5 and the YardMaster SDS—today at WasteExpo 2016 in Las Vegas this week.

The company said that the new solid tires complement its ‘Beefy Baby SDS’, ATG’s first solid tire, which it launched last year.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in our solid tires from operators of scrapyards and transfer stations, where puncture hazards are highest and downtime is extremely costly,” explained Bruce Besancon, vice president of marketing for Alliance Tire Americas, Inc.

He added that that company has also seen continued interest in the pneumatic Galaxy Hulk and the pneumatic Beefy Baby III, which has become a popular for skid steer and loader tire.

“Meanwhile, people managing compost and remediation projects for waste management companies are looking for tires from our industrial and even agricultural lines, covered by our Galaxy and Alliance brands,” continued Besancon.

“All in all, what we’re seeing is that waste management customers are looking for a wide range of purpose-built tires that can handle the punishing environments, diverse job sites, broad array of materials in the waste stream, heavy loads and relentless schedules they work in every day,” he concluded.
