Waste Industry Ready for Root Revolution : New Trainable Recycling Robot from ZenRobotics Heads to IFAT
Finnish robotic sorting system manufacturer, ZenRobotics, is to display the latest upgrades to its “world first” robotic waste sorting systems in at IFAT 2016 in Munich this month.
The company said that its recently upgraded ZenRobotics Recycler (ZRR), now comes in a new design, and has new operational features, such as the ‘Trainable ZRR’.
The new feature is said to allow customers to train the robot to sort new fractions themselves, adding to ZRR's operational efficiency and flexibility.
“One of the main benefits of robotic waste sorting is flexibility,” explained ZenRobotics’ Rainer Rehn. “Robots are multitasking machines that sort numerous fractions, small and large, in one go and on one spot.”
“Combine that with unmatched recognition capability of the artificial intelligence, and you have the answer to ever-changing waste streams," he continued.
”We are witnessing huge interest in robotic waste sorting globally and we're thrilled to have robots at the show. The waste industry is definitely ready for robots, as operators have realized the potential in creating more value from less waste. This is a technological revolution," Rehn concluded.
