Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks Boost Flexibility : Remondis Adds to UK Hazardous Waste Collection Capability

Waste and recycling firm Remonis has increased the size of its collection fleet in the UK with the addition of three new 26-tonne trucks and one articulated vehicle as it grows its hazardous waste processing business.

Operating on a shared load basis, the company explained that the vehicles will provide its customers with greater capacity and flexibility to manage their hazardous waste pick-ups.

The Mercedes-Benz Actros vehicles, designed specifically for long distance journeys, are able carry 26 pallets when connected to a drag trailer. According to Remondis this flexibility means that the drag can remain with customers for loading while the truck undertakes additional collections.

The company added that all of its drivers are fully ADR trained for the collection of hazardous waste and the company is registered under the London Lorry Control Scheme to operate within the capital.

According to Marcus Bauer, joint managing director of Remondis UK, since the company opened its recycling and treatment facility in Merseyside back in 2013, it has been continually investing to deliver more effective, complete and compliant hazardous waste solutions for customers across the UK.

“By growing our fleet in this way, we are now able to offer even greater flexibility for organisations that are required to dispose of hazardous waste – whether it is a full truck load, by the pallet or in small drums,” he said. “The shared load solution means that customers can manage their waste streams on a timescale that fits their business needs at a cost-effective price.”
