From the 2026 edition onwards, the platform is taking the natural step towards internationalisation, thereby strengthening its position as a strategic hub for innovation and regional cooperation. 

  • A strategic partnership with the Chișinău Regional Centre of the Romanian Environmental Association officially opens the doors to the Republic of Moldova.
  • The Official Pavilion of the Republic of Moldova is a regional cooperation hub focusing on energy and the environment.
  • The Congress of Mayors and Local Administration of Romania is now twice the size and has an expanded hall, a networking area, and guided tours of exhibition stands for mayors from across the country.
  • Over 500 mayors and representatives of central and local administrations will explore solutions that can be implemented immediately in their communities.
  • Individual meetings in the VIP Centre, facilitated by a dedicated concierge team.
  • Public Administration Gala 2026: Recognising excellence in local governance and sustainable community development.
  • Smart City Industry Awards Gala (SCIA, 10^(th) edition): the flagship event dedicated to recognising the projects, institutions and leaders that are transforming Romania’s urban communities through technology, vision and collaboration.
  • A reinvented agenda will focus on fast financing, resilient communities, AI and digital security. 
  • Four main stages dedicated to each sector: Main Stage, Green Energy Stage, Waste Management Stage and Water Management Stage, plus two rooms dedicated to bilateral meetings and workshops.
  • Conferences organised in collaboration with major industry associations and publications: APPFE, FADIDA, ISWA, ARSMD, FADI, Infomediu Europa, ARC, ARSC, ARM, RPIA, RWEA and CERC

The GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC 2026 is more than just a trade fair; it is a strategic platform that transforms ideas into projects and projects into tangible solutions for communities. This year’s edition achieved remarkable success, confirming its essential role in accelerating the green transition.

What did the GREEN ENERGY EXPO & ROMENVIROTEC 2025 mean?

Three days full of ideas for a sustainable future.

• 100% growth compared to the 2024 edition

• Over 8,800 visitors

• Significant international presence: Switzerland, Poland and China.

• The largest indoor pavilion in Romania, plus two outdoor platforms within the ROMEXPO Exhibition Complex.

• 48 conferences and workshops

• 200 top speakers

• Two halls and two stages full of vision and green energy

• 500 mayors, county council presidents and local administration decision makers participated in the Congress of Mayors and Local Administration of Romania, organised by the Romanian Association for Smart Cities (ARSC).

The event was officially inaugurated in the presence of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Energy and the Department for Sustainable Development of the Romanian Government. It brought together industry leaders and provided real solutions for accelerating the green transition.

Over 500 brands from four key industries presented thousands of innovative and sustainable technologies, ranging from green energy and intelligent recycling systems to water, waste and smart city projects. Concrete steps were taken towards a cleaner world here.

Main sectors – 2025 highlights

  • Green Energy Expo: The area dedicated to renewable energies (solar, wind, geothermal, green hydrogen and energy efficiency) has doubled in size compared to 2024 and will feature several world premieres.
  • Waste Management: Significant expansion showcasing smart collection, sorting, treatment, recycling and waste-to-energy technologies.
  • Water Management: Over 25 exhibiting companies offering smart water solutions, including sustainable infrastructure for drinking water and wastewater, the complete digitalisation of monitoring and control processes, and energy-efficient, sustainable technologies.
  • Urban Smart Expo: Innovations for the cities of the future, including mobility, public lighting, smart living and digital governance. Each stand offered a vision of a city that is more efficient, sustainable and citizen-friendly.

The event is organised by EUROEXPO FAIRS and ROMEXPO in a strategic partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, which emphasises the importance of institutional collaboration in developing the local business environment.
