Event : EBMI2026: the industry event redefining the platform for global circular economy progress
Trans-World Events has confirmed that EBMI2026 — the powerhouse coalition of E-Waste World Expo, Battery Recycling Expo, Metal Recycling Expo, and the ITAD & Circular Electronics Expo — will return to Hall 3, Messe Frankfurt on 17–18 June 2026. Registration is now open, and the event remains entirely free to attend for both the conference and the expansive exhibition floor.
In a significant step forward from previous editions, a single access pass now grants entry to all four co-located shows, each with its own dedicated conference track. The 2026 event is set to host over 400 world-class solution providers, more than 180 expert speakers, and an expected audience of 4,500-plus international professionals — a strictly B2B gathering of decision-makers, chief executives and technical specialists from across the globe.
"Following our record-breaking 2025 edition, we are raising the bar for 2026. By making the entire conference and expo free to attend, we are ensuring that the brightest minds in the industry — from start-ups to global multinationals — can converge in Frankfurt without barriers. We're not just looking at recycling; we're looking at the entire supply chain and its security regarding critical raw materials," said Amanda Tring, Head of Marketing at Trans-World Events.
A professional forum with four specialist stages
The 2026 agenda has been meticulously curated to deliver deep-dive intelligence across the full recycling and asset management value chain, with four tracks running in parallel across the two days.
The E-Waste & WEEE Recycling track opens with contributions from John Shegarian of ERI and Pascal Leroy of the WEEE Forum, followed by sessions exploring how AI and robotics are transforming e-waste processing and a spotlight on Africa's circular electronics ecosystem. Day two broadens the lens to EU policy, with strategic discussions from the European Commission, Recycling Europe, and APPLiA, alongside a session from the European Waste Management Association (FEAD) examining the upcoming WEEE Directive revisions.
The Battery Recycling track tackles the growing drive to strengthen circularity in batteries for everyday applications, with sessions focused on black mass valorisation, compliance with the EU Battery Regulation, and securing domestic secondary raw materials. Market outlooks from Fastmarkets, S&P Global, and Benchmark Materials sit alongside an in-depth panel on battery passports featuring representatives from Orocon, BASF, Daimler Truck, Umicore, and Siemens.
For those working in Metal Recycling, the programme includes a session hosted by Recycling Europe on EU aluminium scrap export policies, and a dedicated panel on end-of-life vehicles featuring representatives from the Renault Group and BMW Group. The track also addresses strategies for enhancing the recovery of Critical Raw Materials (CRMs) to bolster European industrial resilience.
The ITAD & Circular Electronics track bridges the gap between corporate asset disposition and the circular economy. Highlights include a panel discussion on eco-design principles hosted by FIXIT SA, a compliance session covering data sanitisation and right-to-repair regulations across global markets, and an exploration of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the ITAD sector.
One hub for the circular economy
Located in the heart of Europe, Messe Frankfurt provides the backdrop for what organisers describe as a professional-only gathering focused on moving beyond theory into actionable, industry-led solutions. Supply chain security is a core theme for 2026, with the event helping businesses to navigate the geopolitical and environmental complexities of raw material sourcing.
"By co-locating these four vital sectors, we are breaking down the silos that hinder true circularity," say the event organisers. "Whether you are managing a fleet of IT assets, refining precious metals, or engineering the next generation of EV battery recycling, the solutions you need are all under one roof at Messe Frankfurt."
The exhibition floor is expected to serve as a dynamic hub for collaboration between recyclers, manufacturers, and ITAD specialists alike. With over 400 innovations on show, attendees can interact with the latest technologies in e-waste processing, battery reuse, critical raw material recovery, and secure IT asset disposition.
