About Michael Merstallinger DI Michael Merstallinger has been working in the field of waste management and environmental technology for 20 years. From 2003 to 2015 he worked as an employee and from 2015 to 2020 as the managing director of Technisches Büro HAUER Umweltwirtschaft GmbH. During this time, he acquired a great deal of expertise in many areas of waste management and environmental technology and independently handled diverse and comprehensive projects. A major area of expertise was the management of pilot projects to improve separate collection and the analyses required to evaluate the success of the changeover. He also conducted numerous waste analyses throughout Austria on a wide variety of fractions and issues. The organisation and implementation of technical excursions for national and international experts in the field of waste management and recycling technology was also a core area of activity. He conducted the one-week ISWA Study Tour “Collection-Sorting-Recycling-Financing”, in cooperation with ISWA International and ISWA Austria, in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019. In May 2020, he founded his own technical office.
