The waste management industry is witnessing another significant consolidation move as Inducore AB announces its acquisition of Presona AB, a world-leading manufacturer of balers with prepress technology. The transaction, set to close on June 30, 2025, will see Presona integrated into Inducore's System Solutions business area.

Strategic fit for diversified industrial portfolio

This strategic acquisition positions Inducore to expand its footprint in the sustainable waste management sector. Presona brings specialised expertise in designing and manufacturing balers with prepress technology, equipment that efficiently handles various materials from paper and plastic to household and industrial waste. The Tomelilla-based company also supplies air transportation systems for the graphic industry and paper and packaging manufacturers.

The deal represents a natural fit for Inducore's diversified industrial portfolio. The Swedish group operates through three distinct business areas: Truck Bodies, which manufactures truck bodies and provides maintenance services; Systems Solutions, offering system solutions across power, energy, food, packaging, and forestry industries; and Components, focusing on cutting, machining, welding, painting, and system assembly solutions.

Leadership optimistic about synergies

For Presona's leadership, the acquisition offers opportunities for growth within a larger industrial framework. "We are very pleased that Inducore will become our new owner. They are known for their long-term approach and deep understanding of how to develop industrial companies. We see several potential synergies that will strengthen both Presona and Inducore's other businesses. We thank our previous owners for 15 years of good cooperation," says Stefan Bengtsson, Chairman of the Board at Presona.

Stefan Ekström, CEO of Presona AB, echoes this optimism: "Inducore possesses solid industrial expertise and is the right strategic owner for Presona. I see great opportunities in becoming part of a larger industrial group, while also strengthening the Presona brand."

From Inducore's perspective, the acquisition aligns with its strategic vision for sustainable growth. "We are pleased to welcome Presona to Inducore. The company aligns well with our strategy, and we look forward to developing the business further in close collaboration with the team in Tomelilla," says Magnus Biesse, CEO of Inducore.

The acquisition will see Inducore acquire 100 percent of the shares in Presona AB, bringing the baler manufacturer's innovative prepress technology under the umbrella of the Västerås-headquartered industrial group. This move strengthens Inducore's position in providing comprehensive system solutions while expanding its capabilities in the growing sustainable waste management market.

The transaction reflects broader industry trends toward consolidation and the increasing importance of efficient waste processing technologies as businesses and municipalities seek more sustainable waste management solutions.
