Recycled Plastic in Construction

GreenMantra's Domenic Di Mondo: "We transform waste plastics into high-performance specialty polymers and additives"

The construction industry has great potential to become green(er). One way is to use recycled plastics in building materials. Canadian company Green Mantra has developed a special polymer additive sourced from polypropylene and polyethylene recycled materials from across North America ‒ streams of waste plastic that are typically more difficult to recycle by traditional mechanical recycling, such as various types of packaging materials. Domenic Di Mondo, CEO of GreenMantra Technologies, talks with WMW about sustainable waste management in both the roofing and paving industries, his company's innovative technology and a more eco-friendly future for asphalt-based products.
