Dutch magnetic systems manufacturer, Goudsmit Magnetic Systems, will showcase its recently developed overbelt magnets suitable for ATEX zone 21 and 22 explosive dust environments, such as recycling and refused derived fuel (RDF) plants, at the forthcoming IFAT exhibition in Munich.

According to the company these magnets are suitable for removing iron particles from recycling, bulk-handling or biomass material flows such as wood, household waste, RDF, coal or cement plants.

The manufacturer added that the conveyor belts around the magnet are made to be extra tough and wear-resistant so they can capture and cast off the separated ferrous particles without problems.

An auxiliary magnet is used to remove the separated iron particles from the magnetic field, while the electrical parts, connections and cabling are all installed in accordance with ATEX guidelines. Goudsmit added that the bearings are also protected, and the magnetic system is completely covered.

As an extra option, the magnet contains an active cooling system, with heat exchanger and pump, to provide regulation of the oil cooling of the magnet and ensure proper operation.

The company can be found on stand C2-316 at IFAT.
