US national recycling coalition returns

The US National Recycling Coalition looked to be on the brink of extinction a few weeks ago as it announced it was filing for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, but good news came in the form of a decision to reorganize rather than go bankrupt on the 29 September, with Melissa Uerling, board president, saying at the time: 'I believe the Board as a whole preferred that the organization continue to exist if a legal path could be found, and today, we heard one existed. The unanimous vote reflects that. Any future for the NRC is conditional upon fundraising, successful negotiations with creditors, and the development of a viable business plan.'Now, negotiations between the NRC and its landlord have resulted in the forgiveness of $800,000 in debt – meaning half the NRC's debts have now been cleared. The organization continues to reorganize since its turnaround of fortune.
