Ricardo’s Energy & Environment division has expanded with the recruitment of four new consultants to work on waste management projects.

Dr Adam Read, Practice Director – Resource Efficiency & Waste Management fort he firm said that the new recruits are a reflection of the good year the company had last year, and the expectations it has for this financial year.

“Our support to private sector waste management companies and local authorities on waste flow modelling, carbon analysis, options appraisals and procurement has gone from strength to strength and each of these new colleagues brings added capability, experience and expertise,” he commented.

Ramy Salemdeeb is a resource efficiency and waste management consultant focusing on post-conflict zones and developing countries. He is the founder of "Zero Waste MENA", a regional initiative to promote sustainable practices in the Middle East and North Africa. He is a final year PhD student at the University of Cambridge with a first class degree in civil engineering and a Masters in Environmental Management and Technology.

Ramy has global experience in environmental modelling, life cycle assessment, WRATE modelling manipulation and food waste collection. His knowledge and skill set in international development will support and strengthen Ricardo Energy & Environment’s rapidly growing presence in the global waste and resource management arena.

Dr Nicholas Head joins Ricardo Energy & Environment as a Waste Management Consultant specialising in waste operations and circular economy modelling.

Nicholas has had a distinguished career in waste and resource management working on projects across the public and private sector. This ranges from developing waste prevention strategies and reuse services procurement for local authorities to performing country level options assessments for circular economy business models with corporate clients.

Nicholas will bring his wealth of experience to help the Ricardo Energy & Environment team to provide governments, businesses and other organisations the innovative strategies required to make real sustainability improvements to their processes and products.

Sam Beaumont is a Senior Waste Management Operations Consultant specialising in local authority waste management. He is a graduate in Environmental Science and has a professional focus on sustainability, resource efficiency and corporate social responsibility. He has a breadth of practical and technical skills including resource modelling, auditing and carbon management.

During his career, Sam has provided support and technical guidance in local authority procurements, bid support, project management, waste collection and street cleansing, resource modelling and optimisation, contract mobilisations and site based assessments and inspections for Urbaser. He will share this experience with the Ricardo Energy & Environment team as it continues to help local governments respond to the financial and social challenges at the front line of waste management.

Dr Jade-Ashlee Cox is a Chartered Waste Manager with experience working with public and private sector clients on a variety of UK and overseas projects. Jade-Ashlee completed her Doctorate in Engineering in sustainable waste and resource management at the University of Surrey. Her EngD was a joint project with Surrey County Council, where she fulfilled the role of government officer for four years.

Jade-Ashlee has supported organisations across the world with waste strategy development, composition analysis, TEEP modelling, economic commodity modelling, treatment technology due diligence, waste collection system and transfer assessments and feasibility studies. She will join Ricardo Energy & Environment’s specialist team in helping local authorities and businesses develop strategies for waste management and recycling that meet and exceed national quality standards.
