34,000 TPA E-Waste Recycling & Refurbishment Facility for Cincinnati

E-Waste Systems, Inc. (otcqb: EWSI), an electronic waste management and reverse logistics company located in London, Shanghai and Ohio, is developing a new e-waste recycling and refurbishment facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to the company, the facility has the capacity to process as much as 75 million pounds (34,000 metric tonnes) of e-waste annually and will serve as the headquarters of the operating unit EWS Cincinnati. EWS Cincinnati will also provide oversight of the recently acquired facility in New York State and is planned to become a strategic operational hub for the Midwest and the New York location will provide the basis for further expansion in the Northeast. The initial footprint of the recycling facility is over 50,000 square feet (4650 square metres), with the possibility for further expansion. The company explained that all of its recently acquired equipment, including the shredding, separation and CRT processing lines, is now being installed at the new facility. At the same time, the asset recovery, data destruction, repair and refurbishment equipment, much of which EWSI said that it acquired with a 2013 acquisition in California, is also being installed. "In late 2013 EWS Cincinnati acquired equipment for operations in Ohio and New York and this is the next step in the implementation of that transaction,” explained Martin Nielson, Founder and CEO of E-Waste Systems. Further to the equipment installation, the company said that planning is underway for the location to be a constantly upgraded operation, and to ultimately showcase EWSI's ‘ePlant’ offering. "Our new location opens extensive business opportunities and enables us to provide the region with a comprehensive solution to a global problem," commented Julie Peterson, president of EWS Cincinnati. Peterson added that the company is already operating in the new facility and has just received record receipts of new waste streams from key customers.
