Input from Attendees Welcomed Circular Economy Conference in Brussels : Conference: Towards Near-Zero Waste at European and Global Level
Roadmaps towards an innovative, near zero waste Europe and the future of the Circular Economy will be discussed at a stakeholder conference in Brussels on 8-9 June this year in Brussels.
The organisers of the event, PNO Consultants, said that the conference will gather all the actors in the field, including companies, researchers and governmental organisations.
Obstacles, roadmaps and action:
The NEW InnoNET Stakeholder Conference 2016 will make the journey from obstacles, via roadmaps, to actions towards a near-zero waste Europe. What this means will be a key talking point at the event.
Participants will be informed on the obstacles for a near-zero waste Europe identified by experts in the field. Obstacles – and solutions – will be discussed among keynote speakers and researchers from the project.
All registered participants will receive the obstacle analysis reports before the conference. In addition, registered participants receive before the conference the draft roadmaps that will be used as key input for the European Commission’s new Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda on waste.
Be involved
The roadmaps will be discussed on the second day of the conference. In three targeted workshops - ICT-waste, End-of-Life vehicles and packaging waste – participants are provided the opportunity to reflect on and contribute to the roadmaps.
The organisers have said that your involvement in drafting the roadmaps is important because the European Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda should be based on the experiences of all players in the field.
NEW_InnoNet will provide participants with the opportunity to use the conference to start action. Participants can – together with project partners – organise workshop sessions at the conference.
The H2020 project NEW_InnoNet works towards the implementation of the Circular Economy in Europe. Its aim is to develop a supported vision on the path towards a Near Zero Waste Economy in the EU.
This is intended t result in a European Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) on three major waste streams: ICT-waste, End-of-Life vehicles and packaging waste.
PNO Consultants have asked for feed back on what topics attendees would like to discuss, what action they would like to take, and with whom?
At present, several sessions are already being organised but additional ideas are welcomed.
