13-15 TPD MRF Designed to Fit into Small Footprint with Existing Baler : CP Group to Install Material Recycling Facility for Waste Pro in Florida
Florida based privately owned waste and recycling firm, Waste Pro, has selected San Diego, California based recycling equipment manufacturer CP Group to install a new 13-15 ton per hour single stream Material Recycling Facility at its Regional Operations Center in Sarasota.
CP Group said that the facility will bring new recycling capabilities to the Sarasota-Brandenton region and will focus on the recovery of old cardboard containers #11, mixed paper #2, old news print #8, and plastic containers numbered 1 – 7.
Waste Pro, which serves more than 245,000 customers in the region, will house the new single stream system in a new 14,000 square foot (1300 square metre) building, while still utilising the existing 30,000 square foot (2800 square metre) building.
According to CP Group the creative design of the McMRF® will enable a baler line to be incorporated into the existing building, while reusing the current baler line with the new processing equipment aligning with it.
The company added that flexibility played a large role in the system design and said that overcame the design challenges of incorporating the existing baler feed in a small footprint.
The solution was to shorten conveyors without sacrificing sorting ability. Working in partnership, Frank Casagrande, Waste Pro director of recycling operations, and CP explained that its engineers utilised an innovative design which was created for full baling and storage capabilities in the existing building.
By implementing such solutions, CP said that along with Waste Pro it has turned design challenges into operational enhancements.
The company said that at the heart of the recovery technology is its disc. The CP OCCScreen captures cardboard commodities, while the CP Glass Breaker Screen captures glass and removes glass fines from fibre and containers.
The CPScreen uses patented cam-lobe discs that offer the proper agitation needed to separate 3D material.
“This is essential for cleaner products going forward in the system, since glass is a main contaminant in single stream throughout the United States,” stated Casagrande.
Keith Banasiak, Waste Pro regional vice president added: “We have worked with CP previously and look forward to installation starting in May,” said. ”We should be fully operational by July.”
