Finland 145,000 tpa waste to energy plant inks triple crane order
The Riikinvoima waste to energy plant in Leppävirta, Finland scheduled for start-up in late 2016 will use three cranes from Finnish company, Konecranes. As part of the order, two automatic grab cranes will be used to handle the facility’s fuel storage, with the third being used for the service of assembly purposes. Austrian industrial technology manufacturer ANDRITZ was selected by the Finnish utility company Riikinvoima to supply the 16 MW waste to energy power plant in October 2014 (see WMW story). The new plant is designed to treat 145,000 tonnes of waste per year collected by eight local authority companies.
