MRWA starts work on 1.4m recycling centre, UK
Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA) has broken ground on the £1.4 million new Old Swan Household Waste Recycling Centre, in Liverpool, which is slated to open in October 2015. The Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) will provide facilities for the north of the city and relieve pressure on the Otterspool site in Aigburth – currently the only HWRC within the Liverpool City Council boundary. The new Recycling Centre is expected to handle up to 15,000 tonnes of recyclable material each year. MRWA operates 13 recycling centres across Merseyside.
