SEPA improves waste regulations

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has reduced bureaucracy and maintained high levels of environmental protection with the enforcement of three sets of regulations:- the Producer Responsibility (Packaging Waste) Regulations - the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations (WEEE) - the Trans Frontier Shipment Regulations (TFS).The Producer Responsibility (Packaging Waste) Regulations and WEEE Regulations previously required the submissions of audit reports, even though SEPA carried out its own audits of companies. These audit reports have been deemed unnecessary and will not be required for 2008.The Trans Frontier Shipment Regulations (TFS) also no longer require the submissions of the Annex VII documents for movements of waste when travelling to the waste's final destination.
