Veolia Environmental Services completes the acquisition of Cleanaway UK
Veolia Environmental Services has completed the acquisition of Cleanaway UK. The deal was completed on Thursday 28 September 2006 with an enterprise value of £589 million (€868 million 1) and followed approval by the EU competition authorities.Cyrille du Peloux, Veolia Environmental Services' Chief Executive for UK and Northern Europe, said: 'We are delighted to complete this acquisition which provides us with a tremendous opportunity to place ourselves at the forefront of the UK waste management market. The deal between two well-respected providers represents an excellent fit in terms of complementary skills, infrastructure and geographic coverage and a platform for further growth.'
