VIDEO: Chicago Restaurant Sends Zero Waste to Landfill

A video detailing how Chicago restaurant, Sandwich Me In, managed to go achieve zero waste to landfill by sorting and recycling and composting all of its ‘waste’ products. According to Justin Vrany, owner of the establishment, while a typical restaurant around 8 gallons (30 litres) by volume of waste is produced every hour, Sandwich Me In took two whole years to produce that in amount. Even the tiny amount of waste that was produced over that two year period was given to an artist to recycle into an art sculpture.
