In a significant move to combat waste and promote sustainability, the European Parliament and Council reached a provisional agreement on 18 February, setting new measures to prevent and reduce food and textile waste across the EU. The agreement introduces binding targets and extended producer responsibility schemes to create a more sustainable and circular economy.
